Hi. My name is Earnie Taft. Being Texas born, I grew up in Fort Worth and worked a career in Dallas. I took up the fiddle while I was in college in the late 1960’s when I acquired an old family violin.
Through the years I fiddled with a number of great local musicians encompassing several genres from bluegrass and country, to Old-Timey and Irish. However, I was always drawn to those old-time fiddle tunes that seemed to best fit the fingers of this old, self-taught fiddler.
The intent of this site is to assist fiddlers by providing written sheet music of how I interpreted over 340 old-time fiddle tunes, and to give an idea as to what each piece of music sounds like.
